ELIGIBILITY
The Two Hundred Club of Union County offers college semester grants to full-time salaried police officers and firefighters actively engaged in performing law and public safety service duties in Union County, New Jersey. The courses of instruction to be pursued must be related to the professional improvement of the applicant in the areas related to their professions.
Any Two Hundred Club scholar who has successfully completed his or her prior semester studies, in the judgement of the scholarship committee and Board of Trustees of The Two Hundred Club, is eligible to apply for grant aid.
The total grant fund will be allocated among successful, qualified applicants by the grant committee and Board of Trustees of The Two Hundred Club. The decisions of the committee and Board shall be final and binding upon all applicants and any other interested parties. The information you give on this application, together with attached documents, is confidential and will be for use by the Scholarship Committee only.
If you have not applied for other grant aid from your employer and such aid is available to you, you may be denied The Two Hundred Club scholarship aid for this reason.
To apply for a grant, an application form should be fully completed and mailed together with:
1. Transcript from the courses completed for which the grant is applied.
2. Statement of the tuition and fees charged by the college for the course of instruction desired and proof of payment of those fees.
3. Statement of scholastic aid, (if any) received, or will receive, from your municipality.
4. Letter from your Commanding Officer acknowledging this course(s) does provide professional improvement to the applicant's field of employment.
